Dear Praying Friends,
We do appreciate those who responded to our request last week. Here is the update.
The vascular surgeon said Jerry’s aneurysm is large and just about to the point of intervention. It is located just below the kidneys. His kidneys do not look the healthiest either. But he is not going to do anything until the next visit, which will be an ultrasound in April. (I believe Medicare will not pay for tests within 6 months of each other, and he had the scan in October!) In the meantime he said the risk of rupturing is only 1 to 2%. Jerry’s blood pressure is a concern however, that it will not go too high. With his autonomic neuropathy it is erratic, so that must be more closely monitored. I asked about any restrictions – of course that would be me, not Jerry asking :-), specifically climbing gangways and lifting heavy items! The doctor said “No restrictions!” Okay, what can I nag about now?
In a nutshell, we will wait, and in the meantime continue on with the ministry in the strength of the Lord. How grateful we are for the prayers of our beloved ones in Christ.
In the love of our Saviour,
Dear praying friends,
In preaching chapter-by-chapter through the gospel of Mark, God impressed on my heart recently the importance of our response to the word of God. As we all move into this next year, may we respond to God’s word with a heart to obey it, no matter how hard it is.
God continues to give us good opportunities to contact our friends and neighbors and share the truth with them. Zoli and Judit attended our concert Wednesday, and will be coming to our house next month. We met our immediate neighbors, Vera and Micky, and their 19-month old daughter, Lia, in the stairwell Friday night. They invited us into their home to see their remodeled bathroom, and we talked for about an hour with them. They will be coming over to visit us next week.
We had a good visit with our language teacher, Vera, on Monday. I told her that there are hundreds of people in America who pray for her by name, and she was very touched by that. I said that I was praying for the God of the Bible to reveal Himself to her. Please pray for these individuals that they would be “fully persuaded,” not just “almost.”
God bless you as you move forward by faith this year,
