Dear Co-laborers and Praying Friends,

“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”  Proverbs 16:3
How marvelous to know that when we place everything in God’s hands, he will confirm our thoughts through his word!
There is no greater privilege to be able to participate in God’s work by praying, giving, and going to those that are lost with the glorious gospel of salvation!  Thank you for your support and prayers for us here in Costa Rica.
In our efforts to reach the lost, we are going to begin having meetings in the homes of the brethren that they might invite their neighbors, work companions and friends to come and hear the gospel.  Usually, it is easier to come to a home rather than to a formal church service.  Our purpose is to preach to them, and for those that accept the Lord, give them follow-up courses, and of course bring them to church.  Please pray that God would work in the hearts of all those that will be invited.
Please help us pray for Diana Alvarez, who began recently attending our church.  Her mother, Sandra, is currently being hospitalized and is in intensive care for serious problems with diabetes and other ailments.  Diana had been praying for her father to come to know the Lord.  Through God’s grace he came to church last week.  Glory to God!

In the Burial de Piedades Sur we are praying that God would give us a complete family of believers in order to be able to start a work in their home.  We have many contacts and are praying that God would work in their hearts to where they would see their need of salvation.

On October 16, my mother Teresa suffered a cerebellar infarction (stroke). After being in the hospital for a week, the hospital released her to us to be cared for in mi sister`s house. The doctors said that she would be bedridden until she would finally succumbed. However, she has improved much physically in that she can feed herself, even though with difficulty, and she can walk a little when helped. But we know that the damage in her brain is permanent. Please pray that God will accomplish his holy will.
Right about that same time, we received notice that my mother-in low (Rosa) had suffered from a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. After many tests, the doctors determined that it was not a heart attack, but just an out-of-control spike in her blood pressure. She is now under new treatment for her hypertension and has recovered quite well.
We have been very busy, but trusting always in the Lord and in the power of his might. We can sense the power of your prayers on us.

Thank you for your love, prayers and financial support.

Heredia, Costa Rica, August, 2017

Dear Co-laborers and Praying Friends,

“A faithful man shall abound with blessings,” – Proverbs 28:20

How merciful God is to always shower us with blessings according to his grace.  We are thankful to God for his care, protection and blessing given to us.

Thank you all for your valuable prayers and financial support.

We continue to work faithfully in soul winning, follow-up work and teaching here at the church in Heredia.  We praise the Lord for the baptism of Wilber Diaz and his wife Maricela.  It’s marvelous to see the fruit of the discipleship course in people’s lives.
Please help us pray for the people close by the church who are hardened to the gospel, some who are fanatical Catholics, others who are very materialistic, and others who are simply apathetic.  But we know that our God has the power to touch those hearts and open to us the doors to preach the gospel which is “the power of God unto salvation.”

There are several people whom the brethren have won to Christ for whom we are praying that will begin to attend church and receive the follow-up course:  Will, Frank, Marlon, Carolina, and Alejandro.

In the area of Piedades Sur we have a small house where we stay when we go there to visit and pass out tracts.  Sad to say, in the last week of July thieves made a hole in the wall and robbed us of nearly everything in the kitchen, including a new stove that we had recently purchased.  Thank God that they are only material things that can be replaced.  God is good and is in control of everything, and that “all things work together for good.”  We know that in his time he will provide.
Please continue to pray for the people in this area, especially for the salvation of:  Efrain and Flor Rodriguez, Edwin and Denia Gonzalez, Luis and Mariangela Salas, Estelia Alvarado, Emilio, Jose, Eladio, Naaman, Carlos, Olga, Marvin, Naomi, and Martin.

Thank you for your love, prayers and financial support.

June, 2017 Update from the Rojas Family

Heredia, Costa Rica, June, 2017

Dear Co-laborers and Praying Friends,

“. . and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this?  They said unto him, Yea, Lord.”   Matthew 9:28b

How marvelous to know and believe that the Lord can do all things according to his perfect will, and that we can trust in his power and control in all things!

I want to thank you for your support in prayer for us and our ministry here in Costa Rica, and to assure you that you are so vitally important to us.

Please pray for my wife Silvia.  She has been waiting for two years for an operation on her right arm (rotary cuff), and it looks like she’ll have to wait two more years.  That’s the system here with the social security.  She has continual pain in her arm, even though she keeps up with her normal daily routines.

Pray for a young man named Cristian who received the Lord last month, for his spiritual growth and for his wife.  Please keep in your prayers also a young couple, Oscar Pereira and his wife.

I want to share with you about a lady member of the church that had asked prayer for her mother, who is 90+ years of age and had suffered a fall which required emergency surgery that was of high risk due to her age.  She asked prayer especially for her salvation.  By God’s grace, the mother received Christ as her Savior, went through the surgery, and is on her way to recovery.  Glory to God!

Please continue to pray for the progress of the church here in Heredia, that God would open doors for the preaching of the gospel, and that the Lord would add to his church those that would be saved.

We continue praying and witnessing in the area of Piedades Sur de San Ramon.  We hope that very soon we can officially begin the work there.  Pray that God would provide us a place where we can begin our meetings.  Concerning the 4×4 vehicle for the work in this area, as each day passes the need is greater, especially since we are in the rainy season, which means mud everywhere and in places where our regular van cannot access.  We are praying for five churches or individuals to donate $400 each.  If God would lay it on your heart to help us with this project, please send your offering to the GPA and designate it as ROJAS WORK CAR.

Thank you for your love, prayers, and financial support.
